Playathon Schedule

The 38th annual Rio Playathon will be a 17 hour marathon of music and fun, running from 7 am to midnight! All Rio bands perform at this exciting and fun event. Elementary and middle school students are invited to play with Rio’s Advanced and Honors Concert bands. There are fun games, treats and an instrument petting zoo to visit. Note: its on a Thursday this year, ahead of a 4 day weekend! Free and open to the public. Carnival for our visiting young musicians.
Approximate performance schedule:
8 am – 1:45 pm – Performances for Rio Americano High School Students
1:55 pm – 3:00 pm – Performance for Rio Staff
3:30 – Carnival Opens
3:15 – 4:20 pm – Middle School Guests Play-Along with Honors Concert Band
4:30 pm – 5:30 pm – Elementary School Guest Play-Along with Advance Concert Band
5:50-8:45pm: Public concert- In order: FM, PM, AM, ICB, ACB, HCB
9-10pm: ALL-PLAY!
10pm-midnight: Dance
Midnight: cleanup and pickup
